Main eligibility conditions

• Land-holding farmer family.
• Some groups are excluded (see the list below).

Conditions we could not check

• Family means husband, wife and minor children.
• State governments identify eligible land-holding families.
• The portal lists more exclusions than we can check here.

Who may not qualify

• Institutional land holders.
• Serving or retired government officials, and pensioners with pension of Rs 10,000 or more per month (Group D staff not included in this exclusion).
• Former or present holders of constitutional posts, ministers, MPs, state legislators, mayors and district panchayat chairpersons.
• Income tax payers.
• Registered doctors, engineers, lawyers, architects and chartered accountants who practise.
• Farmers who acquired land after 1 February 2019 (as listed on the portal).

How to apply

1. Open the New Farmer Registration page on the PM-KISAN portal, or use the PM-KISAN mobile app, or visit an authorised CSC or eMitra centre.
2. Fill in the registration form.
3. Complete eKYC (it is mandatory; biometric options are available).
4. Check your status on the Know Your Status page.
