PM-KUSUM supports solar pumps and small solar plants for farmers.

What you may get

Central assistance of 30% (50% in special regions) for solar pumps, with the state adding 30% for general states and the farmer paying the rest. Bank loans may reduce the farmer share to 10%. Small solar plants of 500 kW to 2 MW may sell power to the DISCOM.

Who it is for

Individual farmers, farmer groups, cooperatives, panchayats, FPOs and Water User Associations, depending on the component.

Main eligibility conditions

• Standalone solar pumps up to 7.5 HP are for farmers in off-grid areas.
• Farmers with a grid-connected pump may get it solarised.

• Subsidy share depends on state and region.
