Financial Assistance for Ex-Servicemen in Penury (Armed Forces Flag Day Fund)

Main eligibility conditions

• Non-pensioner ex-serviceman or widow.
• Rank Havildar or equivalent (Navy, Air Force) and below.
• Age 65 years on 1 April of the financial year of applying.
• A widow of a grant holder is eligible whatever her age.

Conditions we could not check

• The person must be a non-pensioner ex-serviceman of rank Havildar or equivalent and below, or the widow of one.
• The age of 65 years is counted on 1 April of the financial year of applying. A widow of a person already getting the grant need not meet the age condition.

• Age proof if the date of birth is not in the discharge book
• Identity card issued by the Zila Sainik Board
• Bank passbook first page or cancelled cheque
• Certificate of penury in the given format

How to apply

1. Log in to the KSB web portal and apply for the Penury Initial application.
2. Upload scanned copies of the documents.
3. The Zila Sainik Welfare Officer checks the originals and recommends the application.
4. For later years, apply for Penury Renewal with a life certificate between 1 December and 31 March.
