AICTE Swanath Scholarship Scheme for Students

In simple words

A scholarship for orphans and some other children who face loss of a parent, studying technical courses.

What you may get

Rs 50,000 a year as a lump sum for college fee, computer, books and similar costs. Up to 4 years for degree and 3 years for diploma. A maximum of 2000 scholarships a year (1000 degree, 1000 diploma).

Who it is for

An orphan or ward in one of the listed groups, studying a degree or diploma in an AICTE approved institution, with family income up to Rs 8 lakh a year, may apply.

Main eligibility conditions

• Belongs to one of the listed groups (orphan, parent died of Covid-19, ward of martyred armed forces or paramilitary person, or parent with critical illness, death or severe disability)
• Family income not above Rs 8 lakh a year
• Studying a degree or diploma in regular mode in an AICTE approved institution
• Not receiving any other Central, State or AICTE scholarship

Conditions we could not check

• Must be an orphan, or a child of a parent who died of Covid-19, or a ward of a martyred armed forces or central paramilitary person, or a child whose parent has a critical life threatening disease or died or is severely disabled (above 80 percent) in an accident.
• Must study in an AICTE approved degree or diploma course in regular mode.
• Must not receive any other Central, State or AICTE scholarship.

Who may not qualify

• Students who already receive any Central, State or AICTE scholarship are not eligible.

Documents you may need

• Income certificate issued by the State or UT Government
• Death certificate where the guidelines require it for the group

How to apply

1. Wait for the notice on the AICTE or NSP website that opens applications.
2. Apply online on the National Scholarship Portal.
3. The institute verifies the application, then the state department checks it.

Application fee

The guidelines do not mention any application fee.
