What you may get
Free devices such as those for low vision, hearing impairment, loss of teeth and locomotor disability. The cost of generic devices is limited to Rs 15,000 per person and special items to Rs 20,000. One year of free maintenance is provided.
Who it is for
Senior citizens aged 60 years or more who are BPL or have monthly income up to Rs 15,000, and have an age related disability.
Main eligibility conditions
- Age 60 years or above.
- BPL category, or monthly income from all sources not above Rs 15,000.
- Aadhaar or Aadhaar enrolment slip, or another specified identity document.
- Medical officer certificate for the disability where needed.
Conditions we could not check

- A medical officer certificate is needed for low vision, hearing impairment, loss of teeth or a locomotor disability needing a wheelchair.
- The same device should not have been received free from a government source in the last 3 years, except to replace a faulty one.

- A person who got the same device free from a government source in the last 3 years may not get it again, except to replace a faulty one.

How to apply
- Devices are given in camps organised in districts. Watch for a camp announcement from your district authority.
