AICTE Pragati Scholarship Scheme for Girl Students (Degree)

In simple words

A scholarship for girls who take admission in a technical degree course.

What you may get

Rs 50,000 a year as a lump sum for college fee, computer, books and similar costs, for up to 4 years (up to 3 years for lateral entry). No extra amount for hostel or medical costs.

Who it is for

A girl admitted to the first year of a degree course (or second year by lateral entry) in an AICTE approved institution, with family income up to Rs 8 lakh a year, may apply.

Main eligibility conditions

• Girl candidate in first year of degree, or second year through lateral entry
• Not more than two girl children per family
• Family income from all sources not above Rs 8 lakh a year
• Gap after the qualifying exam not more than two years
• No other scholarship or stipend from any source

Conditions we could not check

• Must be admitted to the first year of a degree course (or second year through lateral entry) in an AICTE approved institution.
• At most two girl children per family.
• Selected on merit of Class 12 marks within state quotas. The guidelines read are for 2021-22, so check the current AICTE notice.

Who may not qualify

• Students who receive any other scholarship, salary or stipend during the course may lose this scholarship.

Documents you may need

• Income certificate issued by the State or UT Government
• Marksheet of the qualifying exam

How to apply

1. Wait for the AICTE notice that opens applications.
2. Apply online on the National Scholarship Portal once it opens.
3. The institute where you study verifies the application, then the state Directorate of Technical Education checks it.

Application fee
