Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme for wards of RPF and RPSF personnel (Ministry of Railways)

In simple words

A monthly scholarship for children and widows of serving and ex Railway Protection Force personnel who take up professional degree courses.

What you may get

Rs 2,500 per month for male students and Rs 3,000 per month for female students. 150 scholarships are set aside each year, half for women.

Who it is for

Wards and widows of RPF or RPSF personnel below Gazetted officer rank, in a recognised professional degree course.

Main eligibility conditions

• At least 60 percent marks in Class 12, diploma or graduation.
• Regular admission to a recognised professional degree such as BE, B.Tech, MBBS, BDS, BEd, MBA or MCA.
• Only two wards per family, one course only, no distance learning.

• The student must be a ward or widow of serving or ex-RPF or RPSF personnel below Gazetted rank.
• At least 60 percent marks in the qualifying exam (Class 12, diploma or graduation) are needed.
• Only two wards per family may get it.

How to apply

1. Register on the National Scholarship Portal (scholarships.gov.in) and get the One Time Registration number.
2. Fill the online form for this scheme and upload the documents.
3. Submit before the last date shown on the portal. The institute then verifies the form.
