What does this GR say?

This GR approves the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. Eligible women get Rs 1,500 a month in their own bank account. It also sets who can apply, who cannot, and which papers are needed.

Main points

• Rs 1,500 a month goes straight into the woman's own Aadhaar linked bank account. If she already gets less than Rs 1,500 from another central or state money scheme, the difference is paid.
• The GR says the scheme is for women of Maharashtra aged 21 to 60: married, widowed, divorced, abandoned or destitute.
• She must live in Maharashtra, have a bank account, and her family's yearly income must not be more than Rs 2.5 lakh.
• Not eligible: family income above Rs 2.5 lakh, an income tax payer in the family, a regular government employee or pensioner in the family, a family member who is a present or past MP or MLA, more than 5 acres of farmland, or a four wheeler in the family (tractor is not counted).
• Papers listed: online application, Aadhaar card, Maharashtra domicile certificate or birth certificate, family head's income certificate, first page of bank passbook, passport photo, ration card and a signed promise to follow the rules.
• Anganwadi and village or ward level officials check the application and confirm it online. The district Women and Child Development officer sends it on, and a committee under the Collector gives final approval.
