A free national registration for unorganised workers. It helps them reach social security schemes.

What you may get

Registration is free. The portal itself gives registration only. Benefits of central and state schemes can be delivered through this database.

Who it is for

Unorganised workers aged 16 years or above may register.

Main eligibility conditions

• Home-based, self-employed and wage workers in the unorganised sector may register.
• ESIC or EPFO members and income tax payers are excluded.

Conditions we could not check

• Must work in the unorganised sector (home-based, self-employed or wage worker).
• Members of ESIC or EPFO cannot register.
• Income tax payers cannot register.

Who may not qualify

• Members of EPFO or ESIC.
• Income tax payers.

Documents you may need

• Aadhaar number
• Mobile number linked to Aadhaar

How to apply

1. Register on the e-Shram portal.
2. Or visit the nearest Common Service Centre for help.
3. Without a linked mobile number, use biometric registration at a CSC or State Seva Kendra.
