In simple words

Employees covered by ESIC may get medical care and cash benefits for sickness, maternity, disablement and for their dependants.

What you may get

Medical care for self and family from day one. Sickness benefit at 70% of average daily wages, up to 91 days in two consecutive benefit periods. Maternity benefit at 100% of average daily wages for up to 26 weeks. Monthly payments for disablement and to dependants after death from employment injury. Unemployment allowance for up to 24 months on involuntary job loss.

Main eligibility conditions

• You must be an insured person under the ESI Act through your employer.
