A central scheme under which children in Government and Government Aided schools may get one hot cooked meal on every school day.

What you may get

One hot cooked meal on school days. For classes 1 to 5 the meal gives 450 calories and 12 grams of protein. For classes 6 to 8 it gives 700 calories and 20 grams of protein.

Who it is for

Children in Bal Vatika (just before class 1) and classes 1 to 8 in Government and Government Aided schools, and children in classes 1 to 5 in NCLP schools.

Main eligibility conditions

• The child is enrolled and attends school.

• The child must be enrolled and attending a Government or Government Aided school, a Bal Vatika class before class 1, or an NCLP school as the guidelines describe.
• The meal is given on school days at school. There is no separate application by parents.
